Ligonier Valley Learning Center (LVLC) is a nonprofit human service agency that has been providing quality services to individuals and families for over 40 years. Our mission is to support children, youth, adults, and families by providing programs and services that promote growth, wellness, and overall quality of life.
Highly skilled, licensed clinicians provide mental health counseling services for children, youth, adults, and families, offering support through individual, couples, and family therapy. Our dedicated professionals provide services in a safe, nurturing, and non-judgmental environment where each individual's strengths, needs, and unique experiences are valued.
LVLC is committed to recognizing and respected each person's distinct family, cultural, and spiritual beliefs and differneces. Individuals are treated with respect, honesty, and provided with the most appropriate level of services to meet their needs. Programs and services are continually reviewed and evaluated to ensure continued growth, improvement, and excellence.
In addition to counseling services, LVLC provides high-quality educational opportunities for young children through our Keystone STARS Educational Child Care, NAEYC Accredited Educational Child Care, and State Subsidized PA Pre-K Counts School Readiness Program.
Our Creative Arts Studio offers a variety of creative classes and enrichment opportunities for children, youth, and adults. Through artistic expression, participants have opportunities to explore their creativity, develop new skills, and engage in meaningful experiences within our community. The Creative Arts Studio is also available for rental, providing a welcoming and versatile space for special events, celebrations, gatherings, and community activities.

To help keep everyone healthy, children who have a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other contagious symptopms should remain at home until they meet our return-to-care guidelines. Families will be contacted if a child becomes ill during the day.

Yes. Our teachers and staff complete required state training, background clearances, and ongoing professional development. Staff members are also trained in pediatric CPR and First Aid.
The safety of our children is our top priority. We conduct regular fire, severe weather, and emergency drills and have detailed emergency procedures in place. Families are notified promptly in the event of an emergency.
Children transition based on their developmental readiness and age. We work closely with families and allow children to visit their new classroom before the official move to help make the transition comfortable.
Pre-K Counts is a free high-quality preschool program designed to prepare eligible children for kindergarten. The program focuses on school readiness through hands-on learning, social-emotional development, and early literacy and math experiences.
We offer care options based on classroom availability. Please contact our office to discuss your family's schedule and determine the best enrollment option for your child.
We hold an infant toddler grant to assist families that are income eligable.
Our center is currently transitioning from Learning Beyond Paper to The Creative Curriculum. The Creative Curriculum provides a comprehensive, research-based approach that encourages children to learn through hands-on exploration, play, and meaningful experiences. Lessons are designed to support each child's cognitive, social-emotional, language, and physical development while fostering creativity, problem-solving, and a lifelong love of learning. Our goal is to provide engaging, developmentally appropriate experiences that help prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond.
